The Lost CFF June 2011 Newsletter. Thanks

Early June, Dianne and I were on assignment with the National Day of Prayer Task Force to seek out and locate a new state coordinator for northwest Alaska. We flew off into the unknown with only one point of contact. A ministry named TheCall was having a “Kingdom Come” gathering just outside of Anchorage in the town of Wasilla, and they encouraged us to set up a National Day of Prayer display table to make our presence known.

Over 1500 people attended from around Alaska. Our awesome God went before us and brought us into contact with several integral prayer leaders within the state. They are now prayerfully seeking out God’s chosen people who will fill the roles of the new Alaska State Coordinator as well as other coordinator positions across the state. Please continue to pray with us as we ask for God to raise up His chosen leadership who will faithfully guide the State of Alaska in National Day of Prayer activity not only in May but also throughout the rest of the year.

With our Alaska mission accomplished, we continued to travel the surrounding terrain, discovering that Alaska is one awesome state! The Alaskans were warm, helpful and friendly, and the Church is vibrant. The scenery and wild life were amazing. We took a few extra days to explore Denali National Park and the Kenai Fjords.

“Amazing” and “awesome” are two words which also aptly describes our new little granddaughter, Mady Ayn Walsh, born to Becky and Drew on May 3rd. But alas, she has been whisked away to the far reaches of Tallahassee, Florida, where Drew has accepted a position as the Director of Worship Arts at Killearn United Methodist Church, a very loving and supportive fellowship. Please pray for their adjustments to the new location, new ministry, new relationships, and new amazing baby.

As the summer continues to unfold before us, Joe is busy teaching a workshop for youth at Arcade Church, called Assist One Foundation. This incredible organization works closely with children who are caught up in the foster care system and aids them in finding loving, adoptive families.

In other news, CFF is collaborating with the Luis Palau Festival and it’s prayer preparations for the Festival in May 2012. In addition, we are in the beginning stages of planning the Marketplace Men’s Prayer Summit, which will take place some time this fall.

We need the Lord’s guidance in all these activities as they continue to unfold this summer. Thank you for your prayerful participation and much needed giving to California (Capitol) Fellowship Foundation. Summers are always an economic challenge for churches and ministries, and we are no different. Lastly, please pray for the Lord to continue to raise up new friends who will support the CFF ministry. Thank you so much and God bless!

With much affection and appreciation!

National Day of Prayer and Cinco de Mayo, 2011, 4:45 pm to 7:00 pm

Two themes, One heart, One Nation! “A Mighty Fortress is Our God”.

On the south steps of California’s Capitol this 5th of May, there will be a most unique worship and prayer time. Because the Cinco de Mayo falls on the National Day of Prayer for America this year, the event planning team sensed God was going to connect these two events together for the very first time. I shared this idea at a February NDP conference in Fresno, California. A few days later God began connecting people together. And within a few days God had brought together people like Martin Cantu and the L-Rey band, Evangelist Mario Murrello, Pastor Samuel Rodriguez, Lou Engle, Netz Gomez, Bishop Jaime Soto, and many more to celebrate two themes with one heart for one nation!

Please pray for God’s blessing for California through this special event. As you can imagine, there are many details to coordinate. Pray especially for the Governor to release a request for a NDP Proclamation. California and New York are the only two states holding back with a Proclamation. Pray for that Day across our Nation, that participants will seek God with sincere humble and repentant hearts. How we need a turning and surrender to Jesus Christ across our land. Thank you for being a part of this spiritual revival movement! Please share the financial burden of this event with family and friends. Thank you so much!! ~ Joe & Dianne Walsh

A very Merry Christmas and Happy News Year

MERRY CHRISTMAS !

Our home was bursting with the blessing of a full family gathering this Thanksgiving. The laughter, childish squeals, and constant chit chat were food for our grandparenting hearts and a praise to God.

We are blessed to have all of our three sons and their families living in California. Joel is now working in San Francisco as technology director for Universal McCan. He commutes across the bay to their home in Sausalito where Annie, (second grade) and Jonah (Kindergarten) are making new friends in their charter school. Annie also attends a fun class in a Circus School while Jonah is taking Kung Fu lessons. At two years old, little Zeke is a delightful bundle of energy, and he enjoys going with Elizabeth to volunteer at the kids school.

Daniel and Jennifer have had some adjustments in their lives as well since he has joined the ranks of the thousands of unemployed in Sacramento this year. She works as many hours as she can get as a server at Sizzler, while Dan is searching for a job, improving his computer skills and helping me on some ministry projects. On the plus side, he has also had some extra time to volunteer in Chase’s first grade class and to coach Chase’s soccer team.

For Drew and Becky the changes are coming soon. He graduates this December from Azusa School of Theology with his Masters in Theology and is candidating for a position as a Worship Minister at a church. The most exciting event is coming up next May when our fifth grandchild is due to make her grand entry and turn their world up-side-down

Our Family Needs Your Prayers

We would all appreciate your prayers for these many adjustments and changes in their lives, and for their sensitivity in discerning God’s direction and provision of employment.

In ministry, please pray for:
1) God’s guidance for National Day of Prayer Task Force in filling the California and Washington State Coordinators positions. As the National Area Leader over seven western states, I will temporarily act as an interim for these states.
2) Pray for God’s timing for the development and launching of a new community prayer mobilization plan.
3) God’s blessing at the California State Capitol as Bessie Rocci leads a daily prayer walking teams, and Frank Erb conducts weekly Bible study for legislators and staff.
4) God’s direction for 2011 as I set goals and schedules and seek to network relationships for prayer ministry in California.

5) Please pray for God’s provision for our financial needs. We ae so thankful for many of you who have given to us and prayed for us faithfully throughout our years of ministry. During the economic crisis this last year we have lost half of our donor support. Pray for us that God would raise up additional donors to join with us as partners in ministry.

God’s blessing to you this Christmas season!
